Christ the king defeats Bishop Loughlin in triple overtime to be crowned CHSAA champs.

McDonald’s All-American and CHSAA Player of the Year Jayvaughn Pinkston led Bishop Loughlin to its first trip to the CHSAA Class AA intersectional boys basketball title game in seventeen years, with a 59-58 semifinal victory Wednesday night against Rice at St. John’s University.
Pinkston had 23 points and nine rebounds, including a massive 3-pointer with 1:38 left in the game to give Loughlin (23-5) a 56-47 lead and help cement the first win against Rice of his high-school career.

Loughlin will meet Christ the King in the final on Sunday at Rose Hill Gym in The Bronx.
